We’re situated in the heart of the Cap-Ferret pine forest, between the lagoon and the ocean, just a ten-minute cycle from the village centre. Suffice to say, there’s no shortage of things to do right on our doorstep, and it’s a bit of a challenge to list them all without leaving any out.
Cycling, walking and tennis, just a stone's throw from home
The cycle path right outside our front door opens up dozens of kilometres of cycling routes through the forest.
For walkers, there are also several footpaths winding through the pine forest, with scenery that changes depending on whether you’re heading towards the lake or the sea.
The tennis club, just 200 metres away, offers court hire and private lessons for those who want to keep fit between siestas.
Ferry, fishing, diving: the peninsula's water sports scene
When it comes to water sports, the private ferry departs from Port de la Vigne, providing easy access to various spots around the peninsula or a crossing to Arcachon.
You can also hire a boat, try your hand at sport fishing (sea bass in the channels, tuna offshore in season) or go canoeing, kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding on the bay.
Scuba diving is also available nearby for those intrigued by the depths of Arcachon Bay.
The Bassin or the ocean: two different atmospheres just a few minutes' walk away
And if you prefer a stroll, the little beach on the Bassin side is just three minutes away, whilst the ocean requires a little more patience – about fifteen minutes – but it’s definitely worth the effort, especially at sunset.
