A secret beach, just steps from the house
Open the guesthouse gate, and feel free to step outside barefoot if the mood strikes you.
It is a short walk: cross the road, head down a small dune, and follow a path dotted with a few boat sheds pulled up onto the sand... Three minutes flat, and you are standing with your feet in the waters of the Arcachon Bay.
At low tide, some fish for little crabs, while others prefer to just settle onto the sand and watch the traditional pinasse boats glide by. And at high tide, you can step straight into the water—it almost feels like walking into a swimming pool!
Without a doubt, this is our favorite little stretch of beach. It is wonderfully uncrowded, offering a peaceful quiet that is rare for the Peninsula during peak season. You will mostly cross paths with locals rather than passing tourists, which brings a completely different energy compared to the main beaches of Cap-Ferret. No rows of matching umbrellas, no ice cream vendors—just the sand, the oyster huts, and the quiet ballet of boats returning to the harbor.
If you are looking for a bit more action and amenities, head over to the Port de la Vigne—just a five-minute walk away—where you can catch the water shuttle or set off on boat excursions.
For those who love long rambles, this little Bay-side beach is also the perfect starting point before hopping onto the cycle path that winds all the way to the tip of the Cap-Ferret Peninsula.
And the day doesn't have to end there. The heated pool allows you to keep swimming, even when the Bay or Ocean waters turn cool at the end of the day.
As for the sun loungers, they await in the shade of the garden—the perfect spot to catch your breath before dinner. Just one more way to stretch out the pure pleasure of your days on the Penisula.
